GC rallies late to tie Montgomery College
Lady Lakers fall to Carroll CC as Greenwade scores twice

Cara Stout scored unassisted with two minutes remaining last Tuesday to lift Garrett College's women's soccer team to a wild, 3-3 tie against Montgomery College.
Stout's goal completed the Lady Lakers' comeback from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits. Montgomery scored less than two minutes into the game on a Cassianne Fernandez penalty kick and took a 2-0 lead on Kendra Wotchuin's unassisted goal at the 25-minute mark.
Two goals from Victoria Kovazh – an unassisted, first-half goal, and a second-half score set up by Nevaeh Hamborsky – tied the game, 2-2. Wotchuin's second goal, with 13 minutes left, gave GC a 3-2 lead.
Garrett finished with an 18-12 shots advantage while the teams were tied in shots on goal and corner kicks, indicating the game's competitiveness.
Kayla Moore and Sara Tabuena split time in goal for the Lady Lakers. Natalie Nunez-Fleitas minded the net for Montgomery (3-5-1).
Carroll CC 4, GC 2
Westminster, MD – Haley Greenwade scored twice last Thursday as the Lynx overcame an early, 1-0 deficit to claim the win.
Molly Smith and Saige Coufal-Shifflet also had goals for Carroll. Nevaeh Hamborsky scored GC's first-half goal and set up Courtney Miller's second-half tally, which pulled the Lady Lakers (0-5-2) within 3-2 with just over 27 minutes remaining.
GC starting netminder Sara Tabuena made seven saves and second-half goaltender Kayla Moore had two saves. Carroll goaltender Chloe Herpel had four saves while facing six shots on goal.
Carroll (2-4-1) finished with a 20-17 edge in shots.
